Summary of Benefits for Flexible Staff Employees

Semper offers a complete and competitive benefits package to our qualified workers who work directly for us (Some classes of workers are excluded. Please contact HR at 800 954 4993 to determine your status). All rates and benefits are subject to change. Call the Corporate HR Department for current information. The benefit package can change without notice. This package includes:

Health Insurance Package

Enrollment is once a month (At the beginning of the month). You must work 240 hours in the previous two months in order to qualify. If you qualify, your share of the monthly premium will be deducted from your paycheck to cover the following month.

Semper will contribute part of the premium as long as you meet eligibility and the hours requirements (240 hours in the previous two months on a continuing basis). The cost covers all health benefits. The benefits include all of the following:

  • Medical Insurance – Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Dental Insurance – Blue Cross Blue Shield

Section 125 Cafeteria Plan

Pay your insurance premiums with pre-tax dollars and reduce your taxes.

HSA Plan (Health Savings Account)

Semper’s PPO plan is HSA compatible. Opening an HSA allows you to save pre-tax dollars to pay qualified medical expenses including but not limited to medications, office visits and lab tests. Semper’s HSA plan is administered by Wells Fargo. Please call Human Resources in Boston for more information. Please note the HSA is not available to HMO participants.

401K Program – The Hartford-Mass Mutual

Enrollment is quarterly. You must have worked 500 hours in the previous six months to qualify. You can choose between 1 – 15% of your pay to contribute to your plan. Semper matches are temporarily suspended. New participants can roll over assets from former qualified plans. Employer contributions made prior to April 28, 2008 follow a vesting schedule based on years of service. One year of service is 50% vested. Two years of service is 100% vested.

Holiday Pay

Eligibility requires 1800 hours in the previous 52 week period. Employees must work the week of the holiday. Semper issues a check for $75. Holidays observed are: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
