Resume Writing Tips
The word “resume” can inspire fear in even the bravest of souls, but writing a resume doesn’t always have to be an unpleasant experience. Here are a few tips to make it a bit easier, and to ensure that yours stands out from the rest!
- Think of your resume as a marketing tool. You have to sell yourself in the best possible way and in accordance with who the recipient is. Your resume should be tailor-made for each position that you apply for; everything it includes should relate in some way to the job you seek.
- Base the style of your resume on your reader. If the company that you are applying to is conservative, keep your resume clean and to the point. On the other hand if you’re applying to a more creative company, don’t be afraid to make yours stand out from the rest.
- Proofread, proofread, proofread!!! Typos, missing or misleading information, and vague explanations are absolutely inexcusable mistakes when it comes to resumes.
