Job Hunting Tips

Semper knows that the job search process is a trying one, regardless of how qualified you are. Here are a few helpful hints to make it a little easier for you.

• Know what you are looking for
  It is important to browse around and see what’s out there. But if you don’t narrow down your search to a specific career, it will be extremely overwhelming.
• Research
  It is important to know everything you can about the job you are thinking about applying for. That way, there won’t be any surprises when you get to the interview stage of your search!
• Network
  Talk to people. Nowhere else will you find more frank and helpful information, and you just never know when you’re going to meet that great job contact!
• Write a self-advertisement
  Sit down for ten minutes and write out a 30-second script that sells all of your best skills and experiences. Once you’ve repeated it a few times, you’ll use it in every interview that follows and, and have a better idea of what you’re qualified for!
• Combine your interests with growth fields
  Keep informed of what’s going on out there and figure out a way that your skills correlate with the fields that are currently growing the most.
